Feeling Guilty?
Some real estate agents are somehow able to put a big guilt trip on homeowners
if they think you might list your home with someone else. The truth of the
matter is they don't really impose the guilt, the homeowner imposes it on
themselves.
The agent may have been particularly nice to you in some aspect
of your pursuit to sell your home (of course they were nice - they wanted your
listing!), and you turn that in to the need to pay that agent 5 or 6% commission
for their kindness. That's over $15,000 commission on the average home in
Connecticut. That's pretty good pay for being nice!
Think of it... There are over 16,000 real estate agents
in Connecticut, and over 6,500 real estate brokers. The chance of you listing
with any of these in particular is less than 1 in 22,000. With so many agents
around, there's bound to be one that makes you feel you should list with them
even if deep down you don't want to.
Just because you choose not to list with the sister-in-law of
your best friend's cousin doesn't mean you should feel guilty.
We understand, and we have a solution...
Feeling particularly guilty about a certain agent?
List with us and we'll send the agent a nice note inviting them
to show your home. We'll explain that you'd love for them to be the agent to
sell your home in which case they'll earn the commission that you're offering
through MLS.
We'll also send them a $25 gift card to a restaurant.
How's that for getting rid of your guilt? You get to list with
us and save a bundle of money. They get the chance to sell your home and earn
the commission.
And they get Dinner Out to boot! Just let us know what agent you
want us to send this to and we'll take care of the rest.
